Types
CRC offers a line of immersion-style heat exchangers that can increase plant efficiency, reduce operating failures, and maximize the heat exchange of your current system. CRC bent tube heat exchangers, which include helical coils, are available in smooth-tube or finned-tube design. These products can be fitted with a variety of tube-end connections. For special applications, we also offer tube collection devices, such as manifolds, tube sheets, or header boxes. Materials of construction include, but are not limited to, aluminum, copper, cupronickel, nickel, stainless steel, and titanium.
Gasketed plate heat exchangers use corrugated plates stacked between a fixed and moveable pressure plate to transfer heat between two fluids. As virtually all of the material is used for heat transfer, this type of heat exchanger is extremely efficient without requiring a large amount of space. With a wide range of available plate corrugations, connection sizes, plate widths and lengths, CRC can assist you in selecting a gasketed plate heat exchanger tailored precisely to your specific application.
CRC immersion plates are an ideal solution for heating or cooling a liquid within a tank or container. Depending on the application, an individual plate or bank of plates is immersed in a tank or container, and fluid, refrigerant or steam is distributed within the plate to heat or cool the liquid. We offer a variety of flow configurations to provide the proper combination of flow rate and heat transfer rate to meet your specific requirements. CRC plate and frame heat exchangers use the surface area of metal plates to transfer heat between two fluids. A large surface area gives these units an advantage over other types of heat exchangers. We offer plate and frame heat exchangers that can be used in new plant construction, the expansion of existing production lines, and for the direct-replacement of existing OEM units.
CRC brazed plate heat exchangers offer an extremely high level of thermal efficiency and durability in a compact, low cost unit. This type of heat exchanger is ideal for applications with large temperature swings and varying or high pressure. With a variety of sizes, materials of construction, and connection options available, CRC can assist you in designing and fabricating a brazed plate heat exchanger specific to your exacting requirements.
CRC shell and tube heat exchangers are used to transfer heat between two fluids. Consisting of an outer shell and inner tube bundle, one fluid runs through the tubes and another fluid flows over the tubes (through the shell). CRC can design, size, fabricate, and repair shell and tube heat exchangers, including fixed, straight, and U-bend tube bundles. This type of heat exchanger is used in a wide variety of industries, including, but not limited to, Aerospace, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Food, Pulp, Power, and Petrochemical. Built entirely without gaskets or O-rings between the plates, CRC welded plate heat exchangers are highly efficient, compact and economical. Ideal for chemically aggressive environments and high temperatures, this type of heat exchanger maximizes heat transfer while minimizing pressure loss. Welded plate heat exchangers are available in a wide range of sizes and materials of construction to meet your specific application requirements.
Regenerative – involves the temporary storage of heat from a hot fluid being transferred to a thermal packing inside the exchanger possessing the necessary thermal capacity. A cold fluid is then introduced in reverse flow which displaces the hot fluid and absorbs the heat from the thermal packing, resulting in the heat being regenerated.
Adiabatic Wheel -- uses an intermediate fluid to hold heat, which is then moved to the other side of the heat exchanger to be released. CRC adiabatic wheel heat exchangers consist of a large wheel with fine threads rotating through the hot and cold fluids.
Energy Recovery Coils – most often positioned within the supply and exhaust air streams of an air handling system, or in the exhaust gases of an industrial process, to recover heat energy. This heat energy can then be used in other operations or processes such as pre-heating, rinsing, and environmental control.
Desaturation Coils – combines the aspects of a cooling coil and a reheat coil to cool, dehumidify and reheat the air. These coils include an additional coil row in the leaving air side of the coil, called an “intergral re-heat loop.” The return water passes through the last row providing a few degrees of reheat.
